About Joe

My name is Joe Kennaley and I am an award winning wedding photographer located just outside Boston in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

I grew up in Nova Scotia Canada and photographed my first wedding in 1991 while I was still a photography student. After Graduation I trained as a professional photographer at Pridhams Studio and Photography Flewwelling; two of Atlantic Canadas most successful studios.  Since then I have photographed hundreds of weddings all over Canada, the United States and beyond.

Documentary Wedding Photographer

I’ve always loved capturing true, honest moments, and for me there is no single event that best encapsulates all the emotions we go through than a wedding. Excitement, nerves, relief, elation, it’s all there and it’s about letting you relax and enjoy the day you have spent all those hours planning.

My aim is for you to look back on your images and remember what actually happened on your wedding day, not posing for photographs or what was set up. I want the atmosphere and emotion to shine through in your images. A wedding day goes by so quickly but what will live on in the months and years after are the memories and the images.

FAQ

How many pictures can we expect?

Full Day wedding coverage you can be certain of receiving over 600 images that will tell the complete story of your day.

Do you do any formally set-up shots?

My coverage is predominantly documentary and un-posed however I’m more than happy to set aside a short amount of time for us to get some group shots. I typically photograph around 5-6 group shots and spend about 15-20mins with just the Bride and Groom alone.

Can we print the photos?

Of course! You’ll receive all the images in high and low resolution on a USB, with full permission to email, print or share online.

We read that it takes a long time to receive our images…Why exactly does  it take so long to provide the photos?

I take the photos and do all of the post production work myself.  I do not outsource the post production work to anyone else so the final images look exactly the way I want. June, July, August and September are very busy for me and you may have to wait a little longer during those months for the final images. However my clients receive their images within 2 - 4 weeks.  Albums may take 2-4 months, not the finished images.

How do we book?

Once the $500 booking fee and a signed copy of the contract have been received I’m completely yours for the day with the remaining balance due 14 days prior to the wedding.

Do you travel for weddings?

My photography has taken me to venues all over New England, New York, Florida, Atlantic Canada, the Canadian Rockies and Jamaica. So feel free to get in touch if you’re planning your destination wedding.
